I have a 32 yr. old daughter with Cerebral Palsy and recently diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. It's been difficult but I feel she has a fighting chance if I can have oxygen at home for her as needed but the primary doctor or Cardiologist won't provide a prescription unless her saturation rate is around 88 or lower. It gets to 88 sometimes but not daily. Should I make an appt. with a Pulmonary Dr. in order to get a prescription for oxygen?

I have found that a lot of doctors will base decisions like this on what your health insurance will cover.  If your insurance company only covers oxygen when the saturation rate falls below 88%, and your daughter's rate (as measured by the doctor) has never gone that low, that may be why the doctor is not recommending it.

Check into your coverage.  Going to a new doctor may or may not change the outcome.
