Reply with quote | #46 | Hi Rosie, I just wanted to pop in here for a minute and tell you that the old saying of "When God closes a door, He opens a window..."
With that in mind, there is something coming your way that will be good. Perhaps you don't see it at the moment, but this life style change could prove to be the best thing to have happened.
One thing that you might want to do is to journal your thoughts as you are going though this time. I don't know why it is, but somehow the action of writing and the connection with the brain brings up thought and ideas as we write. It often "sparks" new ideas and can help you find answers inside yourself.
Hugs Rosie!

Reply with quote | #48 | Lil - I know what you mean and I know people who have kept journals - but I have never been able to - I started once but could never find the time to keep it up, and I somehow felt embarrassed putting it on paper, seemed creepy somehow, does that make sense?(What if I suddenly died and someone found it and read it - shudder). I am not a deep or spiritual person, I am more practical and I guess I don't have that sense of inner self that requires journal-keeping. My mind would wander off to what chores need to be done or where I could go for lunch, LOL! I had a message left for me yesterday suggesting there might be a vacancy in a local nursing home(the one I like)so I am phoning them today to check it out. Once he goes into a home I start checking out what to do for mysefl financially.

Reply with quote | #50 | Well, Dad has definitely been offered a place in the NH, they will hold it open for 7 days so I am keeping my figers crossed that he'll be well enough to be discharged by then. He will be in a shared room with one other man, and he seemed quite pleased with that. He can have personal items of decoration, photos etc so it will be more homey, and I will be close by.He seemed frail and out of it today but he had a large haematoma on his leg which they drained and was getting a blood transfusion, and possible medicated so he was not at his "best". Will see him again tomorrow. Good thing is that they make sure he gets proper nutrition, the nurses sit and hand-feed him. Sis and I have been getting out and about a bit too and it's so strange not having to hurry home!

Good for you, rosie.
I pray dad will be well enough to go to the NH. And it's great that he is actually not minding it. It will hopefully be nice having a room mate, too.
Enjoy your time to yourself.
hugs, ~ k ~
