Thanks for thinking about me.  I am fine.  We lost a dear friend a week ago who left behind a 22 year old child whose mother died when the child was 6.  We had to step in an make the arrangements and now have another child.  We are now a family of 7.  We have H and me, our 2 sons and their 2 wives and now this latest child is added to the family.

Hi all,
Well just to let you know mom passed away on Oct 6th. I have had a lot of things going on and due to possible problems I will not be posting for a while but reading. I will try to keep in touch. God bless you all, and remember even if they are gone they are still here.

Thanks so much for your New Year's wishes, Alinka.  I haven't been around much lately, but I do often think of you and my other friends here.  I've been doing a lot of "internal" work lately, so that is why I have been away.  Someday when I have a bit more time, I'll share what I've learned about my "shame" issues.
Anyway, I hope you and everyone else here has a wonderful 2011.

I miss you too, Splotchy. Will look forward to you sharing with us when you have the time. "Shame" has been such a pervasive and destructive force all my life. It's something I seem to never stop fighting. Shame and fear.

I'm starting a new thread on shame.  Please add anything that you have learned, as I think this is a big issue for all of us.

Hello all, I posted here quite a bit in 2009 when trying to help my mother decide what to do with her two elderly parents and Down Syndrome brother (she ended up moving them in with her and my grandfather has since died). Occasionally I come back to lurk and read how everyone is doing, so just wanted to stop in and say hello.

I will be staying the night with my grandmother and uncle Saturday night to give my parents a much-needed break. It has been quite a while since I've done the overnight care thing, so wish me luck and patience!  Hugs to everyone, ~Gypsy
